    Adobe® Reader®

Formerly named Acrobat® Reader, this software from Adobe allows you to view and print PDF format files. If you don't already have Reader on your computer, you should use the installer for Reader that came on your Scott Foresman product CD-ROM. If you need a different version, choose from the links below.

Adobe's PDF (Portable Document Format) is a universal file format that can preserve the visual attributes of the original document (fonts, layout, graphics, color) regardless of the application or type of computer used to create it. In addition, you can usually print a PDF and extract its text, if that has been enabled by its author.

    • Download the latest version of Adobe Reader installer for Macintosh.
    • Download an older version of Reader for Windows® 98 or older.

Note: an Internet connection is required to download the above software. These Adobe sites may not be compatible with older web browsers. Once the installer is downloaded, you may need to extract the compressed software before the installer can be used.

    Shockwave and Flash Players

Macromedia Shockwave Player supports viewing and interaction with online activities, games, and simulations.

You may already have one or both of these plug-ins installed. However, we recommend that you obtain the latest version. Before linking to the download sites, you can test if your browser is enabled by visiting the first link below:
